The Situation Report Module provides a means of quickly and easily publishing collaborative reports. Designed with the workflow requirements of Emergency Opeartions Center (EOC) managers in mind, it is aimed at making the process of developing and publishing Situation Reports easier. This is accomplished by automating many of the tasks traditionally performed during the report creation process while still leaving complete control over content to the EOC staff responsible for the report. The main advantage for planning sections that use this module is that they will find that their time required to create reports is greatly reduced.

The process of creating a Situation Report is very simple in DLAN. Each agency liaison accesses the Situation Report Module and enters agency situational information using custom-designed forms with questions pertinent to their agency. The EOC staff responsible for creating the Situation Report then accesses the Situation Report Module, designates the operational period for the report, selects agency reports to include and publishes it. Published Situation Reports appear in the DLAN Situation Report Module sorted by operational period where authorized users can then open the published reports using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
