Fault Finder Fault Finder is an interactive graphical program for learning and practicing troubleshooting techniques for electro-mechanical systems. It provides a complete environment for learning, practicing and testing skills required for effective troubleshooting without the expense of actual equipment.


Instructor and Student versions of Fault Finder are available. For the instructor, Fault Finder provides a step by step review of each student’s work, allowing student skills to be directly measured. It also provides the instructor with tools for preparing system drawings, lessons, exercises and problems. For the student, Fault Finder provides step by step interactive lessons for learning. Fault Finder provides a schematic drawing of a system and the tools with which to troubleshoot problems within that system. System drawings consist of representations of the components that make up the system’s structure. Also included are gauges for observing the condition of a system at various locations. The tools provided allow the user to Read gauges, Observe parts of a system including their outputs, Test a part of the system, Replace parts, and System Test the entire system. Results of actions are displayed graphically in the schematic with normal results shown in green and abnormal results in red.
