BCG Completes DLAN Installation for the City of Whittier

Whittier, California - BCG, Inc. recently  completed the DisasterLAN incident management system installation for the City of Whittier in southern California.  The Local Responder Edition of DisasterLAN was installed for use in city's EOC and features a number of high-level additional feature capabilities.  The standard DLAN LR system features include: Watch Command for 24/7 event monitoring, Status Boards, Reference Library for document storage, Preplanning tools, the Communication /Message Center and the ICS Forms Module. Whittier choose to enhance their crisis management efforts by also incorporating the GIS and Call Center modules to further streamline their EOC's functionality.


DisasterLAN Local Responder  [DLAN LR] is our incident management system version for smaller communities.  It includes a key feature set for smaller jurisdictions, including the following modules: 24/7 Watch Command Module, Status Board, Incident Forms (ICS),  Communications/Message Center, Reference Library storage, and the Preplanning Module. These key features that will help any EOC run smoothly and efficiently during an emergency or can be used to manage every day events. The web-based system was developed to streamline functions within any size emergency operations center (EOC). DisasterLAN can be used from any internet-capable location and can also be integrated with databases currently in use.  As an engineering design firm, BCG can also provide a variety of customizations and integrations if needed.

Unique to DisasterLAN is its built-in tools that provide interoperability with other incident management systems that comply with CAP and EDXL messaging standards. DLAN is also IPAWS CMAS compatible out of the box and meets the federal standards for interoperable messaging.  The web-based NIMS compliant system is currently in use by numerous private, county and state entities including Iowa, California, Vermont, New York, Guam, Minnesota and Canada.
