BCG Donates Software in Support of US Naval Academy

Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) Inc. has completed a donation of our Enhanced Graphical User Interface (GUI2) simulation software to the United States Naval Academy Foundation in Annapolis, MD for distribution to the Academy's Seamanship and Navigation Department. This donation of four (4) licenses of our software was made to support past donations from Northrup Grumman Corporation of the Navy's Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) to train midshipmen on the charting system they will encounter once they graduate and move out to the fleet.

Prior to BCG's donation, the ECDIS classrooms were used as a static training tool and the operational use was limited. With the addition of the BCG GUI2 simulation software, which stimulates the ECDIS with sensor and AIS data, the navigation classrooms now operate dynamically providing a more realistic learning environment. The midshipmen now have a training tool which better represents the actual operation of the shipboard ECDIS.

The U.S. Naval Academy Foundation supports, promotes and advances the mission of the Naval Academy by working in conjunction with Academy leadership to identify strategic institutional priorities and by raising, managing and disbursing private gift funds that provide a margin of excellence in support of the nation's premier leadership institution.

Buffalo Computer Graphics is both pleased and honored to work with the US Naval Academy Foundation advance the readiness of future naval personnel and we look forward to a long relationship.
