Buffalo Computer Graphics, developer of innovative GIS solutions, has been selected to receive ESRI's Northeast Region Partner of the Year Award for 2010
(Buffalo, New York) Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) has been awarded ESRI's Northeast Region Partner of the Year Award for 2010.
Buffalo Computer Graphics is an experienced developer of robust GIS solutions using ESRI's Geospatial Information System (GIS) technology. "It is a great honor to be chosen by ESRI to receive this award," said Gary Masterson, Vice President of BCG. "We are committed to our customers and to providing state-of-the-art ESRI-based GIS solutions and products." BCG's President, Dr. Roy Waas, and Mr. James Clohessy, GIS Manager will attend the ESRI Business Partner Conference in Palm Springs, California on Sunday, March 21st, 2010 to receive the award.
BCG has designed and implemented ESRI-based solutions for a number of years, and has incorporated GIS tools into its DisasterLAN™ incident management system and New York State's NY-ALERT mass-notification and public warning system. ESRI tools in the custom built NY-ALERT system provide the capability to easily define very explicit locations requiring emergency information regarding threats posed by man-made or natural events. Notifications and warnings can now be distributed to specifically defined and geo-coded addresses based on their proximity to a dangerous situation.
A new map-data application currently under development uses ESRI's Silverlight API. BCG's choice in technology platform enabled the scalability needed to provide a sophisticated level of access and a highly functional user interface for a system in Western New York. The application assists county and town planners in making property development and land use decisions. It provides a set of tools to search maps, gather data and then run a variety of reports. Leveraging Silverlight's video streaming technology, simple video tutorials were included in the product instead of a traditional text-based help system. The reporting system was developed by BCG using ArcObjects provided by ArcGIS Server 9.3.1.
