Information Services Specialist I (IT & Security)

Buffalo Computer Graphics — Blasdell, NY (On-site)

Join the team that keeps our technology running and our customers' data secure. Buffalo Computer Graphics builds DisasterLAN (DLAN), mission-critical incident management software that emergency managers, first responders, hospitals, and utilities rely on to make faster, safer decisions when it matters most — and our Information Services Department supports both IT operations and the security that make that possible.

This is an entry-level, blended role across IT and security: you'll spend your time helping colleagues with IT support and contributing to our information security program, with the work leaning a bit toward security. It's an ideal launchpad if you want broad exposure across both before specializing.

What you'll do

  • Be a capable first point of contact for IT support — hardware, software, accounts, and connectivity.
  • Set up and maintain laptops, M365 accounts, and access for new and departing employees.
  • Help monitor security alerts, run vulnerability scans, and track fixes.
  • Support access reviews, MFA, and our security awareness/phishing program.
  • Document what you do so the next person (and future you) has a head start.

What we're looking for

  • A degree in IT/cybersecurity or equivalent experience/certs (A+, Network+, Security+ all welcome).
  • Comfort with Windows and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and a genuine desire to learn.
  • Clear communication and a service-first attitude.
  • Bonus: scripting (PowerShell), cloud (AWS), or security coursework/certs.

Why this role

You won't be boxed into one lane. You'll learn both sides of Information Services and grow toward the specialization that fits you — with a defined path to do it.

Schedule & work conditions

  • On-site at our Blasdell, NY office.
  • Full-time, standard hours 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with a one-hour unpaid meal break. We offer flexible scheduling with supervisor approval.
  • This is a non-exempt (hourly), overtime-eligible position; hours over 40 in a week are paid at time-and-a-half.
  • Occasional after-hours work for incidents, maintenance windows, or deployments.
  • Some lifting and handling of IT equipment may be required.

Eligibility: This role requires U.S. citizenship as a condition of our U.S. Department of Defense contract — both for physical access to client sites and for access to contract-controlled information (NOFORN dissemination control). You must also be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Secret); an active clearance isn't required to start, and we sponsor it as your responsibilities grow.

Compensation & benefits: $45,000–$55,000 annually. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance (BCG covers 80% of the standard plan, effective on your first day with no waiting period); company-paid dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability coverage; a 401(k) with company match; 11 paid holidays plus paid vacation and sick/personal time; a tuition assistance program (up to $5,250/year); and pre-tax FSA/HSA options.

Equal Employment Opportunity: Buffalo Computer Graphics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital or familial status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, New York State, or local law.

As a federal contractor, we provide equal employment opportunity to qualified individuals with disabilities and to protected veterans, consistent with Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA). We provide reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees with disabilities — if you need an accommodation during the application or hiring process, please contact EllenTrotta at [email protected]

Applicants should send their resumes to [email protected] with the Subject line: Information Services Specialist I Position.
