BCG is committed to continually updating and enhancing the DLAN system. Over the past few months, BCG has added several powerful tools to the system. This includes enhancements to task management, mapping, workflows, and personnel tracking. Combined these tools work to create a robust, unified tool for emergency preparedness, response, and overall situational awareness.
DLAN’s GIS Premium module now provides fully integrated world-wide live traffic monitoring for improved situational awareness. Other feeds that can be incorporated into GIS Premium include Aeris Weather, AVL Trackers, Mesonet Services, and many premium ESRI ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS Online services. These services are included free of charge for all DLAN GIS Premium customers.
During normal operations, when a user has to sign in to multiple accounts, it is a minor nuisance; during an activation, it ticks precious seconds off the clock. This problem is worsened by constant staff movement within an EOC brought on by shift changes, new staff coming in from external partners, and staff roles changing within the incident. Maintaining current accounts, creating new ones, and de-activating accounts on multiple applications can be a challenging task for any information technology personnel, but during the high-stress, high-stakes situation created by an emergency, it can be particularly daunting. The Asset Management system in DLAN 10.5 includes new reporting tools, new mapping tools, and new Status Board Asset Module Subscriptions. Phonebook has been enhanced to allow for any Phonebook module customer to utilize the new Assessment Module tools to track assessments at their facilities; Ticket Manager's user interface has been cleaned up, making it quicker to work with attachments, forms, contacts, and dates; and automated notifications from Communication Center can now utilize text message based notifications in addition to the email based notification that were previously available.
